Gary Hawkins (CCS Fundraising)

Gary has more than 20 years of experience working with schools, arts and conservation organizations, religious institutions, and social service organizations. He has assisted clients with capital and endowment campaigns, annual fundraising endeavors, development assessments, strategic planning, and staff and board recruitment and training. Gary's primary areas of expertise are major gifts, training, board development, assessments, benchmarking, and strategic planning. He has directed and managed successful campaigns and annual fund drives with goals ranging from $1.5 million to $100 million. Recent organizations he has served include the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Collin County Habitat for Humanity, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Houston Humane Society, and Memorial Park Conservancy.

Peter Kane (Diocese of Tyler)

Peter Kane serves as the Director of Development for the Catholic Diocese of Tyler, covering 20,000 square miles and serving over 68 churches in East Texas. Originally from Pembroke, Massachusetts, Peter graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Dallas and has worked in religious non-profits in Texas throughout his career. Since joining the Diocese in 2013, Peter has overseen a 92% increase in its annual fund, as well as double the amount of active donors. His areas of responsibility include all fundraising activities for the Diocese as well as strategic planning. A husband and father of three, Peter enjoys reading and conversing about culture, history, and the art of parenting.

Session Description

During this session, we will take an in-depth look at the campaign lifecycle to reveal best practices for your organization's next campaign. We will provide tips and tools for how you can begin to assess your situation, outline the steps you need to take to establish a foundation for success, and how to design your campaign strategy.
