2024 AFP DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference Scholarships


The Greater Dallas and Fort Worth Metro Chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) are pleased to announce the availability of twenty scholarships for the 2024 AFP DFW Philanthropy in Action Conference. Ten scholarships will be available to professionals in the field of fundraising as well as ten collegiate scholarships for students who are currently studying nonprofit management. Each scholarship pays for the cost of full registration and lunch for one attendee.

How to Apply

Please submit your application by Friday, April 26, 2024.

Please follow these steps:

  • Complete the Application Form online.
  • In this application you will need to submit a one-page narrative discussing your involvement in the nonprofit sector, and an explanation of how the conference will benefit you and the organization for which you are associated with.
  • For professionals, please include a statement on your organization's budget and why external funds are needed to support your conference attendance. Also include proof of your organization's tax-exempt status. You will be able to digitally upload this on the online application. Failure to upload this information will disqualify your application from consideration.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should be:

  • Currently a paid (staff) or non-paid (volunteer) or intern of a nonprofit organization in the state of Texas.
  • Have an interest in pursuing a career in the field of fundraising.
  • Spend a significant amount of time fundraising for a nonprofit organization.
  • Students who do not meet the above criteria but who have an interest in entering the fundraising field are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Preference is given to members of AFP and those with limited organizational funds available for training opportunities.

Award Notification

Applicants will be notified by Friday, May 3, 2024. Applicants who do not receive a scholarship will be eligible for the "early bird" conference registration fee. The scholarship is non-transferable.

Reporting

Within thirty days following the conference, awardees are required to provide a brief written statement about how the knowledge gained at the conference will be helpful to them and / or their organization.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals fosters development and growth of current and future fundraising professionals while advocating high ethical standards.
