Volunteer Opportunities
The AFP DFW Philanthropy Conference is in need of volunteers to help at the conference on Friday, June 7, 2013. Volunteers will be able to attend all sessions of the conference; duties are scheduled to ensure this. Therefore, volunteers must be paid attendees.
Volunteer Check-In: 6:15 - 8:00 a.m.
- Check in volunteers.
- Provide them with their assignment information.
- Direct them to their assigned locations.
Greeter: 6:30 - 8:00 a.m.
- Greet attendees at various points in the convention center as they arrive and direct them to Registration.
Registration Table: 6:30 - 8:00 a.m.
- Check in attendees.
- Provide them with program and conference bag.
Speaker Check-In: 6:30 - 8:00 a.m.
- Check in speakers.
- Provide them with program and conference bag.
- Direct them to room where they can leave their things.
- Direct them to their session room.
Welcome/Opening Session: 9:05 - 9:20 a.m.
- Hand out giveaways as attendees leave keynote session.
Speaker Host
- Meet speaker in session room 10 minutes prior to session beginning to ensure she/he has everything needed for session.
- Assist speaker with any equipment/materials.
- Open session: welcome attendees and introduce speaker using bio that will be provided that day at Volunteer Check-In.
- Speaker Hosts are requested to stay in the session they are hosting in order to assist with any issues, give gift to speaker at end, and announce what's next on schedule.
- Do a head count and provide number of session attendees to volunteer at Registration after the session.
- Give gift to speaker at end of session and thank him/her as well as attendees.
- Close session by announcing what is next on schedule and where it is located.
